“You’ve gotten through 100% of the difficult days.”
—Hyim J. Ross

Hyim J. Ross is, amongst other things, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (state of California).  Hyim has an extensive background in supporting and empowering others in their growth and evolution, as well as in their healing of trauma—be it at treatment centers where he works and consults or in his individual practice and his flourishing business consulting training program called “The Hyim Method.”

Hyim has spent well over a decade working with clients struggling with a multitude of forms and cycles of addiction, PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders.  For eight years, Hyim has worked at the elite program “Bridges to Recovery” in Beverly Hills, running groups on “Somatic Awareness: The Biology of Mood Regulation,” as well as a very popular group called “Spiritual Psychology.”

Hyim has a masters in psychology and is also a certified yoga teacher, a certified breath coach, has practiced as a Reiki practitioner for over two decades, and seamlessly integrates his multi-faceted training.  Hyim has worked with a variety of clients in their trauma work: people ranging from members of the NBA, NHL, NFL, and A-list celebrities in Hollywood to homeless youth and foster children.  At age 23, Hyim was a Homeless Youth Outreach worker— for over three years, he developed programs and services and often slept on the streets as an ally and advocate for the youth.

Recently, Hyim ran a program for anger at the internationally recognized DBT-based Borderline Personality Disorder treatment center (IOP) in Los Angeles called Clearview.  Hyim’s anger group was so popular with the clients they quickly added a second group, both of which he facilitated for six years, working with clients and their autonomic nervous system and various modalities of empowerment and change (see the testimonials page).

Hyim is the author of “The Sober Dope Fix,” which is a morning wellness routine curriculum that builds new and healthy daily habits of thought and behavior based on the tenets of neuroplasticity.

Hyim also developed “The Hyim Method,” which is a corporate leadership training and human development program focused on the nervous system and skills development for mood regulation, communication, compassion, and self-awareness. The Hyim Method is all about peace, productivity, and prosperity, and Hyim teaches that, “Where there is peace in the workplace or home, there is more positive productivity. Where there is peaceful and consistent productivity, prosperity is sure to follow.”  Hyim believes that the education he often gives clients in expensive treatment centers should be available to the masses and utilized in their work, local communities, and families.  He sees corporate trainings/workshops as a vehicle for the knowledge, and they consistently help companies have better work culture while improving the company bottom line. Where there is peace, there is more productivity. Where there is good productivity and there is good business plan, more prosperity will occur.

Hyim is a certified life coach utilizing The Hyim Method and has a flourishing clientele around the world.  Hyim also supervises numerous coaches and has a thriving program training other coaches and therapists in his method and overseeing them in their work with clients.

Hyim, a child of medical doctors who was born on a commune in San Francisco, credits two primary life experiences for his capacity to connect with clients and his skilled work as a therapist:  (1) growing up in Oakland and attending the tough and diverse Oakland Public Schools as well as (2) traveling throughout the world and studying in nearly every continent in the world.  Additionally, Hyim is an award-winning, world-touring, Yamaha-sponsored musician and DJ with many accolades and albums released and produced. To top it all off, Hyim is a proud father, uncle, and godfather.

Hyim’s workshops were impactful and successful in reaching our members. I would love to see if we can continue future workshops for the summer and the next school year… we just want to express our gratitude for facilitating a great workshop!
